Opening and Closing of Temple Using Songs
Sambandar met Thirunavukkarasar at Tiruppugalur and went with him to Vedaranyam. There the temple had been shut for many years. So Thirunavukkarasar sang a song to open the door and Sambandar made the door shut through his song. Thus from that day onwards the door of the temple was able to be opened and shut.
